For example, doing things like growing food or flowers, exercising outdoors, or being around animals can have lots of positive effects. Contact with nature is associated with an increase in happiness, subjective well-being, positive affect and social interactions, and a sense of meaning and purpose in life, as well as a decrease in mental distress.*
